Terms of service

By creating a Crawlfix account, calling our API, connecting an MCP client, or running a scan from the marketing site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Crawlfix is owned and operated by Faction Community, LLC. References to "we" or "us" mean Faction Community, LLC; references to "you" mean the account holder or, where the account is owned by an organization, the entity on whose behalf you accept these terms.

Crawlfix fetches HTML from URLs you submit, renders the page in a headless browser, runs a set of audits, and returns a report plus AI-generated fix recipes. The service is read-only. Crawlfix does not modify any system you do not control.

Reports are diagnostic, not prescriptive. They are generated by automated checks and a language model. You are responsible for reviewing fix recipes before applying them, especially changes to routing, metadata, or production deployments.

You may scan:

• Domains you own or operate.
• Public competitor pages, for benchmarking purposes only.
• Any URL you have written authorization to test.

You may not:

• Scan URLs that you do not have authorization to access programmatically. Crawlfix sends a User-Agent of CrawlFixBot/1.0; you must respect target-site robots.txt and rate limits.
• Use Crawlfix to attack, probe, or fingerprint infrastructure. We block scans of private IPs, localhost, and cloud metadata endpoints automatically; circumventing those guards is a terms violation.
• Share MCP or API tokens publicly. Tokens are per-account; we may revoke any token observed in use from many IPs simultaneously.

Embedding Crawlfix in a product (Agency tier and above). Subscribers on the Agency plan or higher may call the Crawlfix API and MCP server from inside their own SaaS or client tooling, including surfacing audit output in their product UI. Plan quotas (scans, domains, rate limits) still apply to the embedding application as a whole. White-labeling beyond what the Agency tier permits requires a written agreement.

Subscriptions are billed monthly, in advance, via Stripe. Plan changes take effect immediately and we prorate the difference. One-time audit unlocks are non-refundable once the unlocked report has been viewed.

You can cancel a subscription at any time from Settings > Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals; your tier remains active until the end of the current period.

Failed payments retry on Stripe Smart Retries. After repeated failure your account drops to free tier; existing reports remain accessible.

We aim for high availability and publish status at /status, but we do not currently offer a contractual SLA on the self-serve plans. Enterprise SLAs are available on request.

Scans run against third-party websites you do not control. We cannot guarantee that a target site will respond, render, or behave consistently. A failed scan is not a service failure.

You own your URLs, your data, and your scan results. We retain ownership of the Crawlfix software, detection rules, fix-recipe library, and brand. You grant us a limited license to process the URLs you submit for the purpose of running and storing the audit you requested.

Crawlfix is provided as-is, without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that fix recipes will produce specific outcomes. Recommendations from Crawlfix are not a substitute for engineering review.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of Crawlfix is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or that show signatures of abuse. On termination, your scan data is removed within 30 days; billing records are kept as required by tax law.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
